Trade fair hostesses — Inviting visitors to the stand

What the job involves

A stand performs only as well as the people standing at it. A trade fair hostess stops a passing visitor, asks the first qualifying question and hands the conversation to your sales team only once there is someone worth talking to.

  • inviting visitors to the stand and opening the conversation
  • qualifying visitors and passing them to your sales team
  • scanning visitor badges and building the contact list
  • handing out catalogues, materials and giveaways
  • keeping the display in order throughout the fair day

Working with an exhibitor from abroad

We agree the language level for the specific task, not in general terms. One level is enough to invite visitors to the stand and point them in the right direction; a noticeably higher one is needed to talk about how the product is applied. Stating the language without the level is the most common source of disappointment after day one.

We also need a short briefing: who your customer is and what question identifies them. Our staff will not replace your sales team and we do not pretend otherwise — the job is to recognise the right person and hand the conversation over.
