What is specific about this market
In the old town and around it, the calendar is dominated by congresses and conferences with a high share of visitors from abroad — staff there work in English as a matter of course, not on request. Trade fairs move out to Czyżyny, to the centre run by Targi w Krakowie, the third largest fair organiser in Poland.
The two settings call for different people. A congress reception desk needs someone comfortable in a foreign language and steady under the morning rush; a fair stand needs someone who can hold the same tone at the fiftieth repetition of the same conversation. It is rarely the same person and we do not pretend otherwise.
